Sketches - March 2021 | Seoul Photographer
I`ve been into plants for a while now. I enjoy photographing them, and in the last few months, I've taken a liking to grow them, too.
I was looking at a few plants on my desk a few weeks ago, and it got me thinking. I realised we prune plants to remove damaged or diseased branches because these branches would eventually stress the plant and limit growth.
I believe a similar action needs to be done in photographs, too. As a photographer, I need to be sensitive to where a photograph needs pruning. Pruning or removing unnecessary elements is required when creating an image. Too much in a picture causes stress and is an obstacle to visual enjoyment.
Here are my favourite images created in March.
Removing distractions doesn't always mean eliminating elements altogether. Below is a layered photograph with many things surrounding the main subject. I photographed a series of images and settled on this photograph because all elements in the frame enhance the main subject and don't necessarily fight for your attention.
Thank you for joining me this month.
