Sou & Edward | Seoul, South Korea Family Photographer
Choosing a photographer, a stranger with a camera can be quite a daunting task. It is a lot more intricate than just finding someone to take pictures of you and your family. It’s more than merely receiving photographs that match an aesthetic you had in mind. It’s even more than just telling a story about your family. You’re essentially inviting someone into your private space. Furthermore, there is an expectation of being provided with friendly service from the start, which will, later on, prove to be beneficial in the creating of the photographs. I strive to uphold these ideals whenever I am commissioned.
Sou and Edward planned a trip to Seoul and decided to have some photographs made during their stay before returning home to Los Angeles. I’ve been privileged to be able to make photographs of vibrant families thus far, and Sou, Edward and little Audrey are no exception. We clicked immediately at our first meeting.
After mother nature(a typhoon to exact) provided a brief window for us to have our shoot, we could settle on a day for which we could meet and create photographs. Light conditions(extreme cloud cover due to the typhoon) weren’t ideal, but we made do.
Upon arriving at their hotel, my makeup artist(Gene) and I were pleasantly surprised at the sounds of giggling by Audrey when she first opened her eyes. I’ve never seen a two-year-old wake up like that. It was the cutest sound I’ve heard. It was this that made me reach for my camera to start creating photographs while Sou had her makeup done.
I planned and arranged for us to shoot at a cafe, a few quaint alleyways, and finally finishing at a park. I thoroughly enjoyed being in their presence and it was beautiful being able to witness how they interacted with Audrey. It was a great day of shooting, and I am fortunate to have met Sou, Edward and Audrey. I sincerely hope to see you guys again in the future.
Thank you for taking the time to have a look through this session of Sou and Edward.
